J.Leiva - Medina White Lacquered

The J. Leiva Medina White Lacquered has the kind of presence that immediately catches the eye on stage. Its white lacquered finish gives it a bright, modern feel, but there's more to this Cajon than its looks. As soon as the hands start to play, you discover an instrument designed to keep the rhythm alive, clean and legible, even in contexts where several instruments share the space.

The 3 mm Russian birch soundboard responds quickly to changes in play. Light strokes retain detail, ghost notes come out easily, and stronger accents retain a clean attack without becoming aggressive. In an acoustic set, this really helps to keep the groove in relief without overpowering the rest of the band.

The 7-ply 10mm Russian birch chassis provides a stable base with more controlled bass. The silicone spikes also contribute to the comfort of use by isolating the Cajon from the floor.

The D.T.S. system uses four guitar strings positioned vertically and adjustable from the outside. In practice, this means you can quickly adapt the tone to suit the mood you're trying to achieve: a drier, snappier sound for edgy rhythms, or something rounder and woodier to accompany vocals or acoustic guitar.
