The Jackson X Series David Ellefson Concert Bass IV Satin Black features a massive sound with twin EMG HZ35 humbuckers and active 3-band EQ. Its comfortable neck and variable-radius fingerboard promote speed and precision. An instrument designed for bassists looking for power, articulation and versatility.
Presentation
The poplar body benefits from reworked ergonomic contours, offering a comfortable anchorage point for the pick or fingers and perfect balance when the bass is placed on the knee. The bolt-on maple neck with graphite reinforcement and miter joint ensures stability and resistance to temperature variations while remaining pleasant to play, even over long sessions. The laurel fingerboard, with a variable radius from 12 to 16 inches, flattens progressively towards the upper frets, for optimum comfort and increased playing speed.
In terms of sound, the two EMG HZ35 humbuckers (neck and bridge) deliver a dense, punchy tone that can be modulated thanks to the active three-band EQ. The blend knob lets you mix the pickups to suit your needs: warmth and roundness on the neck or a cutting attack on the bridge. The Jackson HiMass bridge ensures generous sustain while retaining note clarity and a precise attack, ideal for slap or fast riffs.
The aesthetic details are not to be outdone: Perloid markers in the shape of a shark's fin, single white mesh running the length of the neck, pointed headstock with 4 aligned tuners, white 'Radiation' logo and Ellefson signature on the truss rod cover. This bass is designed for both stage and studio, offering comfort, versatility and power to keep pace with the most demanding musicians.
