Presentation
The Patina Guitars PPJB-3 Lake Placid Blue is the sort of bass that suits almost any situation. With its PJ configuration, it combines the warmth and rich bass of a Precision pickup with the precision and definition of a Jazz pickup positioned at the bridge. You can use each pickup separately or blend them to easily find the sound that suits your style.
Its paulownia body keeps the weight down, making the instrument comfortable to carry both during rehearsals and on stage. The nitrocellulose lacquer allows the wood to age naturally over time and will gradually give the bass its own unique patina. The roasted maple neck with a satin finish offers a very natural feel right from the very first notes. Its rosewood fingerboard and 20 stainless steel jumbo frets provide a smooth playing experience whilst ensuring excellent wear resistance.
The hand-wound Alnico V pickups deliver a rich, full-bodied tone without becoming harsh. The neck pickup delivers deep bass and prominent mid-range, whilst the bridge pickup adds precision and attack when you want to make your playing stand out. The two independent volume controls allow you to easily balance the mix between the two pickups, then adjust the tone using a single potentiometer.
The fixed bridge ensures effective vibration transfer and impressive sustain. The locking tuners guarantee stable tuning even after hours of playing, whilst the luminescent side inlays make it easier to find your way around when the stage is dimly lit. Whether you play rock, pop, funk or soul, this bass offers a rich range of tones whilst remaining simple, comfortable and a pleasure to play.
