Presentation
The Patina PPB-3 FRD Fiesta Red immediately catches the eye with its Fiesta Red finish, coated in a nitrocellulose lacquer. Its style is reminiscent of classic vintage basses, but beneath this appearance lies modern craftsmanship designed to ensure long-lasting, high-quality performance.
Its paulownia body keeps the weight down, ensuring real comfort both in rehearsals and on stage. The roasted maple neck with a satin finish sits naturally in the hand, and its Modern C profile suits beginners and more experienced musicians alike. The rosewood fingerboard provides a pleasant feel, whilst the 20 stainless steel jumbo frets offer excellent precision and are highly resistant to wear and tear.
At the heart of this bass, the hand-wound Alnico V split-coil pickup delivers a full, balanced and highly musical tone. The notes remain well-defined, whether you’re playing with your fingers, a pick or using a light slap technique. The volume and tone controls let you quickly adjust your sound without overcomplicating things. And that’s it! It takes just a few seconds to switch from a warm, rounded tone to a crisper attack, depending on the track.
The fixed bridge ensures good stability and contributes to impressive sustain. The locking tuners keep the bass in tune reliably, even after long playing sessions. The luminescent side markers make it easier to find your way along the neck when the lights go down on stage. With its timeless look, comfortable playability and the characteristic tone of P-style basses, it has everything you need to enjoy playing!
