Beneath its Deep Blue finish, the grain of the solid alder is already visible, promising a tone that strikes a balance between bite and warmth. The two Alnico V humbuckers, topped with wooden covers in the Custom JET design, produce woody harmonics where every nuance retains its own distinct character, from a distorted riff to a crystal-clear arpeggio.
The alder, chosen for the body as well as the sides and back, transmits its vibrations with a lively warmth beneath the fingers. The roasted Canadian maple neck, featuring a Modern C profile, moulds to the palm, whilst a dual-action truss rod ensures precise adjustment over time. The fingerboard, also made of roasted maple, features twenty-two frets spread across a radius of 304.8 mm; with a nut width of 41.9 mm, the string spacing allows even the tightest fingerings to breathe. A bone nut captures the vibrations with crystalline clarity before they reach the Sung-il double-locking bridge, manufactured in Korea to ensure flawless tuning stability even during the most aggressive playing. The black hardware, including the tuning machines, completes this dark and cohesive design.
This JS-800 is designed for powerful styles, from hard rock to biting fusion, where the double-locking bridge becomes an ally during vibrato acrobatics. A three-position switch, paired with volume and tone controls, opens up a whole range of tonal colours at the touch of a button. From dense bass to cutting treble, the instrument forges a dark and assertive identity.
