The Crayon is a simplified effect for recreating Direct-In Distortion, for use as an overdrive pedal, so no XLR function, no 3-band EQ, just 4 settings.

Presentation
Plugging a guitar directly into a console to create that Direct-In Distortion sound is one of the signature techniques of the last 60 years and one of the inspirations for the Colour Box.
Master controls the overall volume. Pre works like a drive or fuzz control, in other words like turning up the pre-volume of a preamp to make it saturate, it will start to cut the sound beyond 75% of its travel if you attack your strings more.
Tilt acts as an active control that will simultaneously boost the bass and cut the treble below 50% of its travel and vice versa above.
The Hi-Pass selector lets you set the frequency of the high-pass filter to 200Hz or 750Hz.
