The Mary-K Fuzz pedal is JHS Pedals' tribute to the original Kay Fuzz Tone, which was released probably in late 1968/early 1969. Initially designed as a low-cost version of the Shin-ei / Univox Superfuzz, this pedal was one of the essential Fuzz pedals of the 70s.

Kay Musical Instruments was founded by Henry "Kay" Kuhrmeyer on 1 July 1931.
Although Henry soon concentrated on producing all types of stringed instruments, they didn't enter the guitar pedal market until the late 1960s with a series of delightfully strange plastic pedals.
Fifty-four years later, JHS released their vision of the Kay Fuzz Tone: the Mary-K. They've even added pots and an expression pedal input for those who want to use it as originally intended, allowing the frequency potentiometer to be controlled with an expression pedal.
