LTD - Surveyor 204DX Black Burst

Designed for bassists who want to recapture the feel of a classic bass with a more distinctive visual style, the LTD Surveyor-204DX Black Burst features a shape inspired by ESP basses. Its Black Burst finish highlights the patterns of the flamed poplar, giving the instrument a distinctive look without losing its traditional character.

The 4-string configuration and 34-inch scale length lend themselves naturally to fingerstyle playing and the bass lines that form the foundation of a track.

The roasted maple neck with a Thin U profile, combined with a rosewood fingerboard and 21 extra-jumbo frets, also offers plenty of scope for venturing into the higher register and developing more melodic phrases.

It can therefore accompany a track with steady, well-defined lines, but also step beyond the simple role of accompaniment when the bassist wishes to make their instrument sing more.

The dual JB-style pickup configuration enhances this freedom of play. The neck pickup can be favoured to achieve a rounder foundation during groove and accompaniment lines, whilst the bridge pickup emphasises the attack and definition of the notes.

The balance control allows you to adjust the mix between the two pickups to suit the track, with the Tone Boost to further accentuate the desired character. A simple and effective approach for switching from a laid-back style to more prominent and expressive lines.
