The Jet Guitars JJB-300 VYW wears its Vintage Yellow with the nonchalance of instruments that know their own worth — and the craftsmanship behind it backs up that claim. The two passive JB-style pickups reproduce the signal string by string, each with its own volume control: the neck pickup rolls and envelops, the bridge pickup cuts through and nips, and the combination of the two creates that characteristic mid-range dip of the Jazz Bass, which the passive circuit preserves without compromise. The unique tone sculpts the whole with simplicity — three knobs, two characters, one sound.
The torrefied poplar body keeps the instrument to a reasonable weight without sacrificing acoustic response, its thermally stabilised structure resisting the humidity fluctuations that green wood accumulates. The torrefied Canadian maple neck with a Modern C profile retains its curve over time — the heat treatment locks the geometry in place where standard necks tend to warp. The rosewood fingerboard, with a 12-inch radius across 20 frets, allows bar chords to sit naturally, its porous texture providing a slight grip without slowing down play. The 38.1 mm bone nut transmits the energy of each string with a clarity that composite materials cannot quite replicate, complemented by vintage-style chrome tuners whose slow gear ratio makes tuning precise and easy. The 2-point bridge with 4 saddles locks the intonation onto the 34-inch scale.
