Nylon-Strings Electro Acoustic Guitar

The Martinez Elementary MP5 CE electro-acoustic classical guitar retains the character of a nylon-string guitar whilst opening the door to amplified playing. Its solid spruce top gives the notes crisp definition, whilst its mahogany back adds warmth to the tone. With its MD100 piezo electronics, this guitar transitions seamlessly from acoustic playing to live performances without losing the natural resonance of its body.

The Martinez Elementary MP5 CE delivers a clear, warm sound to the electro-acoustic classical guitar, thanks to a construction that favours traditional woods. Its solid spruce top responds vividly to the nylon strings and brings definition to the notes, with a crisp attack that is equally suited to everyday practice and more expressive playing.

The mahogany back and sides add a warmer tone colour, with rounded mid-range frequencies that lend body to chords and melodic lines. The mahogany neck continues this consistency in construction, whilst the rosewood fingerboard provides a smooth surface under the fingers. Part of the Elementary series, this classical guitar thus retains the acoustic character of nylon whilst providing an electro-acoustic foundation suitable for live performance and amplification.

The classic 4/4 body shape retains the familiar proportions of a nylon-string guitar, with a scale length of 650 mm (25.59") that places the 20 frets in a natural position under the hand. The 48 mm (1.89") nut provides the characteristic string spacing of a classical guitar, with enough room to articulate arpeggios and rasgueados with the right hand.

The Martinez Elementary MP5 CE also transitions seamlessly from acoustic to amplified play thanks to the MD100 system and its piezo pickup, which reproduces the sound through an amp or PA system without detracting from the instrument’s classical guitar character. Its gloss finish, in a natural colour, reveals the wood’s subtle tones and gives the soundboard a brighter presence under stage lighting.
