Norman - B 150 Anniversaire

A warm resonance emerges beneath your fingers from the very first bars on the Norman B150 Anniversary, a 6-string electro-acoustic dreadnought of which only 150 have been made. Its solid Sitka spruce top produces an organic, lively tone, whilst the vintage brown gradient colour scheme, enhanced by a high-gloss finish, is reminiscent of workshop-built guitars from a bygone era. The 647.7 mm scale length and dreadnought body shape provide a generous foundation for playing, ideal for both rhythm work and laid-back melodies.

The sides and back, crafted from wild Canadian cherry, form the body of the instrument with a woody warmth characteristic of this local timber. The mahogany neck, combined with a rosewood fingerboard with a radius of 406.4 mm, guides the left hand smoothly along the 21 medium frets. The 43.18 mm wide Graphtech nut stabilises the tuning, whilst the rosewood bridge transmits the vibrations of the light-gauge DR Dragon Skin strings (.012 to .054) to the soundboard. Each instrument bears the handwritten signatures of Robert and Simon Godin, engraved like a workshop seal.

Whether on stage or in the studio, the LR Baggs Element pickup captures the guitar’s natural tone and reproduces it faithfully, powered by a 9V battery housed within the on-board electronics. The rosewood tailpiece completes the ensemble with visual and sonic coherence. A certificate of authenticity, carved from cedar in the shape of a plectrum, accompanies each instrument — a tangible record of its edition number amongst the 150 pieces produced, right-handed, strung with acoustic steel strings.
