Pioneer DJ - DJM-S5

All-new design:
As soon as you take the DJM-S5 out of its box, your eyes will be caught by its all-new, highly aesthetic design.
The top is divided into glossy red and black sections, with contrasting details and black controls and knobs, which combine to give this mixer the look of a musical instrument.
As you explore further, you'll discover a small window on the front, allowing you to admire the MAGVEL FADER PRO's internal mechanism, and finally handles that make this compact, lightweight unit easy to take along to your various sets and parties.

Plug & Play compatibility with Serato DJ Pro and DVS:
Simply plug the DJM-S5 into a PC/Mac running the Serato DJ Pro application and you can use the software for free, with a host of professional performance features.
The mixer also supports Serato DVS free of charge. This means you can use analogue turntables (with vinyl controls) or DJ players to play and scratch tracks from your Serato crates.
What's more, you don't need any external equipment such as a sound card if you're streaming your set and want to add spoken or sung vocals.
All sounds are sent to the stream via Serato DJ Pro.

New features to make scratching easier:

- Scratch Cutter:
Start scratching straight away, even if it's your very first time. Simply choose one of the 6 cutting patterns and activate the Scratch Cutter function with the effects lever, then move the control vinyl forward and back, or the jog if you're in DVS control, and the DJM-S5 does the rest.
The mixer applies a cutting effect to the music, perfectly synchronised to the song playing on the other track, mimicking the popular 'transform' scratch technique that usually involves complex crossfader movements, without having to touch the crossfader.

This is a great way to start learning to scratch, as you can concentrate on fine-tuning your timing on the control vinyl before moving on to the more difficult technique of cutting the sound at the right moment using the crossfader.
For example, if you select the forward cut pattern, you can practise pushing the control vinyl at the right moment and bringing it back to the right place to start the scratch again without having to close the fader to avoid the rewind sound being heard between the forward scratches.

- Crossfader Hot Cue :
Activate the Crossfader Hot Cue function and you can quickly move the crossfader to create scratch-like sounds with a sample or song. Each time you move the fader away from the edge, the song or sample on the corresponding track is played back from the most recent Hot Cue point.
This means you can quickly repeat the action to start the Hot Cue at the same rate as you move the crossfader, creating a scratch-like sound without having to touch the control vinyl.
