Electric Guitar Effects

The Context is a reverb pedal inspired by the rack reverbs of the 80s. It features 8 reverb algorithms. Version 2 adds stereo inputs and outputs, USB MIDI, external expression pedal control, 3 new modes, delay and reverb in all modes, separate base and treble controls, modulation, dynamic reverb and infinite sustain. The Context can create ghostly reverb effects, slow-sweeping resonances and even become a granular multi-voice processor that creates clouds of detuned sound fragments to create totally new reverb sounds.

ARTICLE N° 83635
The Context 2's room, hall, cathedral, gate and plate reverb algorithms are updates of the version 1 reverbs, but delay is now available in all modes.

The Modulation setting changes the amount and character of the internal modulation, giving a mix of different modulation types from the reverbs of the 80s and early 90s, including chorus, pitch-stable random modulation and intensely modulated reverb.

You can adjust the modulation frequency by holding down the Shift button.

The reverse reverb is progressively louder and brighter to give the impression of playing in reverse, and the modulation adds normal reverb. The spring reverb is not inspired by any particular spring reverb.
Instead, Red Panda has designed a spring reverb algorithm using the same techniques and algorithms that were used in 80s reverbs, but with a lot more processing power.

The result is a spring-like reverb with its own character.

You can adjust the length of the effect's release as well as the bass and treble.
The modulation is a tremolo with adjustable intensity and speed.

Of course, delay and dynamics are also available.

Grain mode is a granular reverb inspired by the Ursa Major SST-282 Space Station, which came out in 1978 and used multiple delays with modulation to create reverb effects.

Context 2 Reverb functions :

8 algorithms:
- Room: fast rise to thicken the sound.
- Hall: slower rise with longer initial delay.
- Cath(edral): simulates a large, reflective space.
- Gate: reverb with non-linear gate and release.
- Rev(erse): inverted reverb.
- Plate: bright, dense flat studio reverb.
- Spring: spring reverb.
- Grain: granular reverb.

Settings:
- Blend: mix of original signal and effect (up to 100% effect).
- Pre: pre-delay.
- Decay: delay release.
- Hi: treble flattening.
- Lo: bass flattening.
- Mod: modulation amount and character.

When the Shift button is pressed, the upper buttons are used to adjust the delay parameters.

Settings (with Shift pressed) :
- Bal: reverb / delay balance.
- Delay: delay time.
- Fdbk: delay feedback.
- Hi: dynamics recovery time.
- Lo: dynamics threshold
- Rate: modulation frequency.

The Hi and Lo buttons adjust the dynamics by modifying the threshold and recovery time.

Keep the footswitches pressed for infinite sustain.

The left footswitch keeps the input active so that the sound rises.

The right footswitch freezes the reverb while your original signal continues to play.

There's 1 preset available on the left footswitch and 127 via MIDI or the external footswitch.

An expression pedal or CV (Control Voltage) can be assigned to any combination of parameters.

There's also an online editor for further modifying your presets.
