Presentation
The Rickenbacker 4030S Short Scale Jetglo builds on the tradition of the 4000 series whilst offering a modern take on the short-scale design. With its 30.5" / 774 mm scale length, it encourages fast playing, offers a more relaxed string action and feels natural to play straight away, making it ideal for bassists seeking comfort and responsiveness.
Its construction features a maple body and a maple/walnut set neck, ensuring rigidity, consistent sustain and solid projection. The rosewood fingerboard adds an organic warmth that balances the natural brightness of the maple. The 24 frets expand melodic possibilities and allow you to explore modern registers.
On the electronics front, the two Hot Toaster Top pickups deliver a rich and expressive tonal palette. The neck pickup provides roundness and depth, whilst the bridge pickup emphasises bite and clarity. The passive electronics, featuring two volume controls, two tone controls and a 3-position selector switch, allow you to switch effortlessly from a dense, full-bodied sound to a cutting presence.
The result of a collaboration with Jesse F. Keeler, this compact bass retains the Rickenbacker visual identity whilst offering a dynamic and contemporary take, designed to cut through the mix, whether live or in the studio.
