The ADI-6432R BNC provides 64-channel conversion from MADI to AES-3id and vice versa. Based on the bidirectional MADI-AES/AES-MADI converter, it offers broadcasters ease of integration and fail-safe operation through the use of standard BNC connectors and dual redundant power supplies, while providing 64 channels of I/O capacity.

Based on RME's highly successful ADI-6432 bidirectional MADI-AES/AES-MADI converter, the ADI-6432R offers broadcasters ease of integration and fail-safe operation through the use of standard BNC connectors and dual redundant power supplies, while providing 64 channels of I/O capacity.

The BNC version is aimed at professional and broadcast users who require AES-3id connections and 75 ohm coaxial cables up to 300m long.

Typical applications include two ADI-6432Rs used as a digital multicore, or one unit used as an AES-3id interface for the HDSPe MADI card.
Up to 192 kHz at 24 bits is supported.

AES-3id, an extension of the AES-3 standard also known as AES/EBU, carries exactly the same data as AES-3, but uses a different cable (75 Ohm unbalanced instead of 110 Ohm balanced) with different connectors (BNC instead of XLR) and a lower voltage (1 Vpp instead of 4 Vpp). As a result, the ADI-6432R BNC has 64 BNC connectors at the rear.

Like all MADI RME converters, the ADI-6432R BNC provides MADI coaxial (BNC) and optical (SC to multimode glass fibre) connectors.
MADI supports 64 channels of 24-bit audio at sample rates up to 48 kHz, 32 channels up to 96 kHz and 16 channels up to 192 kHz.
All channels are transferred via a single cable, whether coaxial (BNC) or optical network cable. In both cases, cable lengths of over 100 metres can be achieved.

The ADI-6432R accepts 56 and 64 channels and a 96k frame at its input, and can be configured to generate these formats at its output.
