Rme - AES25 PRO M Tascam/F Yamaha 50cm
The RME AES25 PRO M Tascam/F Yamaha 50cm connector adapter allows two pieces of AES/EBU equipment with different D-Sub 25 pinouts to be connected directly. Its male connector uses the TASCAM standard, whilst the female socket corresponds to Yamaha’s pinout, making it easy to interconnect digital devices from these two different architectures. At just 50 cm, this AES3 adapter cable is particularly easy to fit into a rack, behind an audio interface or between two pieces of equipment installed close together.
Presentation
This model features a male D-Sub 25 connector on the TASCAM side and a female D-Sub 25 connector on the Yamaha side. It thus enables the interconnection of AES3 equipment that does not share the same pin configuration, without the need to replace cables or modify the internal wiring of the devices. The signal continues to be transmitted in the AES/EBU digital audio domain, whilst the adapter provides the necessary correspondence between the two connection formats.
The choice of a D-Sub to D-Sub connection preserves the multi-channel architecture typical of professional equipment. This type of connection is commonly found on audio interfaces, converters, digital cards and control room equipment featuring multiple AES/EBU channels on a single connector.
The 50 cm length is suitable for short connections. It avoids adding unnecessary cable length when simply interconnecting two adjacent devices or adapting a socket within a rack. This length also makes it easier to tidy away cabling behind equipment and minimises clutter around the D-Sub connectors.
The RME AES25 PRO M Tascam/F Yamaha is part of the ALVA AES/EBU Multicore range. Its black construction utilises D-Sub 25 connectors with a 4/40 UNC thread and a design suited to professional AES/EBU connections.
