Studio Channel

The Portico 543 from Rupert Neve Designs is a 500 Series 2-Channel Compressor / Limiter module with independent and interconnected modes of operation. Designed to handle tracking or mixing, the Portico 543 has two compression / limitation channels that can be used independently or in series, for two distinctly different compression sounds. The input and output transformers are there to give your tracks a typical British sound. Inject some classic flavor into your tracks by adding a Portico 543 to your 500 Series chassis!

  • S / C or LINK: Several 5043 can be chained via the rear panel jacks. When a single channel is turned on, its voltage control appears on the "LINK" jack. When both channels are switched on, they are "linked" together and their voltage controls also appear on the "LINK" jacks.
  • Selecting LINE or BUSS inputs: Use XLR inputs to enter the line level, or "Buss" jacks when using the Buss output of a Portico element.
  • Maximum output level: Transformer balanced output + 25dBu.
  • Total Harmonic Distortion: At 1kHz, + 20dBu level of output level, no load.
  • Main output, compressor "bypass"> 0.0006% Main output, compressor switched on> 0.02%.
  • Noise: Measured on the main output, 22Hz - 22kHz, 40 Ohm load.
  • Unit level gain, bypass compressor> -103dBu.
  • Unit level gain, compressor switched on> -92dBu.
  • Crosstalk: Measured from channel to channel> -80dB @ 16kHz.
  • A / B Meters: Allows monitoring between "INPUT LEVEL" and "GAIN REDUCTION" between A and B channels.
