Designed for seven-string guitars, Schecter's Apocalypse-VII Pickup Set Black focuses on clarity and signal density, even in the heaviest tunings. Behind its tri-field design lies a carefully thought-out combination: an Alnico V core for an organic, responsive response, flanked by two lateral ceramic 8 magnets for enhanced attack and precision in the extreme frequencies.
Each pickup rests on a nickel-silver base plate, protected by a black industrial coating. Fourteen adjustable high-carbon steel pads allow the level of each string to be adjusted, a necessity on a 7-string where tonal balance is often a challenge. The four-conductor wiring allows a split coil, providing a smooth transition between a saturated texture and a lighter register, useful for articulate rhythmic passages.
