Michael Anthony is an American bassist best known for his role in the band Van Halen, which he joined at its inception in 1974. Recognisable by his powerful backing vocals and solid bass playing, he contributed to the band's sonic identity for over three decades. Since his departure, he has played with Sammy Hagar in Chickenfoot and The Circle, pursuing an active and energetic career.
