The Sennheiser EW-D EM (S1-7) is the fixed receiver for the Evolution Wireless Digital system, designed for use with compatible bodypack and handheld transmitters. Its 1/2 19" rack-mount format allows it to be easily integrated into a fixed or mobile installation, whilst its all-metal housing is designed to meet the demands of professional applications.

This version, identified by part number 508803, operates in the UHF band from 606.2 to 662 MHz. It features a bandwidth of 56 MHz, with up to 2,240 frequencies and up to 90 channels available. Sennheiser uses a frequency grid with uniform 600 kHz spacing to minimise intermodulation interference and facilitate the coexistence of multiple channels.

The digital transmission offers 24-bit resolution, a dynamic range of 134 dB and a latency of just 1.9 ms. This low latency helps to maintain a natural and immediate feel, particularly when singing, playing an instrument or using in-ear monitors. The audio frequency response ranges from 20 Hz to 20 kHz (-3 dB).

Set-up is simplified thanks to the EW-D Smart Assist app, which communicates with the receiver via Bluetooth Low Energy. The automatic scanning and frequency management functions enable a reliable connection to be established quickly, whilst facilitating remote monitoring and troubleshooting.

The EW-D EM (S1-7) is therefore suitable for concerts, shows, conferences, presentations, events and stage set-ups requiring a scalable and easy-to-use digital wireless system.
