Sennheiser - EW-D EM (Q1-6)

The Sennheiser EW-D EM (Q1-6) is the fixed receiver in the Evolution Wireless Digital range, designed to work with the system’s bodypack and handheld transmitters. Its half-width 19-inch rack-mount format makes it easy to integrate into a professional installation, whilst maintaining a compact footprint.

This Q1-6 version, part number 508800, operates in the 470.2 to 526 MHz UHF band. It features a bandwidth of 56 MHz, with up to 2,240 selectable frequencies and up to 90 channels depending on the configuration. These features enable the deployment of scalable wireless systems, particularly where multiple links need to operate simultaneously.

The Evolution Wireless Digital transmission system offers 24-bit audio resolution, a dynamic range of 134 dB and an exceptionally low latency of 1.9 ms. This combination ensures detailed reproduction and a natural sound during vocal and instrumental performances. Sennheiser also highlights the regular frequency spacing, which helps to minimise intermodulation interference.

Set-up is simplified thanks to the EW-D Smart Assist app, which communicates with the receiver via Bluetooth Low Energy. Frequency management algorithms can automate selection and synchronisation to facilitate commissioning and reduce the risk of interruptions or interference.

Finally, the receiver features an all-metal housing and a design tailored for professional set-ups. It is therefore suitable for concerts, shows, conferences, events, places of worship and other applications requiring a reliable and easily scalable wireless microphone system.
