Sennheiser - EW-D EM (R1-6)
The Sennheiser EW-D EM (R1-6) combines digital transmission and UHF technology to provide a reliable wireless link for Evolution Wireless Digital systems. Its 520–576 MHz frequency range, 24-bit resolution, 1.9 ms latency and 134 dB dynamic range meet the demands of live performances, conferences and events. Bluetooth control via EW-D Smart Assist makes it easy to set up and monitor the system.
Presentation
This version, identified by the manufacturer’s part number 508801, operates in the 520–576 MHz UHF band. It features a bandwidth of 56 MHz, with up to 2,240 available frequencies and up to 90 channels, depending on the system configuration. Sennheiser offers several frequency variants of the EW-D EM: choosing the correct part number is therefore essential to ensure the radio range is suitable for the installation.
The Evolution Wireless Digital transmission operates at 24-bit resolution and offers a dynamic range of 134 dB. With a latency of just 1.9 ms, the system maintains a natural and immediate sense of response, which is particularly valuable for vocal and musical applications. The audio frequency response ranges from 20 Hz to 20 kHz (-3 dB).
System setup can be simplified using the EW-D Smart Assist app, which communicates with the receiver via Bluetooth Low Energy. Intelligent algorithms assist with frequency selection and synchronisation to facilitate commissioning and reduce the risk of dropouts and interference.
With its all-metal housing, rack-mountable design and scalable architecture, the EW-D EM (R1-6) is suitable for concerts, shows, conferences, events, places of worship and professional installations requiring multiple wireless links.
