For stage performances and presentations, the Sennheiser EW-D ME2/835-S SET (U1/5) digital wireless microphone system combines a handheld microphone fitted with an MMD 835 capsule and an ME 2 lavalier microphone. The EW-D Smart Assist app makes it easy to manage the system remotely. Its digital UHF transmission operates in the 823.2–831.8 MHz and 863.2–864.8 MHz frequency bands, with automatic scanning to simplify set-up.

To switch between different ways of speaking, the Sennheiser EW-D ME2/835-S SET (U1/5) comprises a rack-mounted EW-D EM receiver, an EW-D SK bodypack transmitter, an EW-D SKM-S handheld transmitter, an ME 2 lavalier microphone and an MMD 835 capsule.

This configuration allows you to choose between a handheld microphone and a lavalier microphone depending on the situation. The ME 2 clips onto clothing to keep your hands free, whilst the MMD 835 capsule is fitted to the handheld microphone. The system uses digital UHF transmission and operates in the 823.2–831.8 MHz and 863.2–864.8 MHz frequency bands.

To simplify setup, the EW-D Smart Assist app communicates with the system via Bluetooth Low Energy. Automatic frequency scanning helps to find a suitable setting. With 2,240 selectable frequencies, a channel spacing of 600 kHz and a claimed latency of 1.9 ms, this system offers a range of settings for customisation.

The pack includes the antennas, the power supply with mains adaptors and the rack-mounting kit. Four AA batteries are supplied for the two transmitters. The claimed battery life is up to eight hours with two AA batteries per transmitter. An optional lithium-ion battery pack, sold separately, allows for up to twelve hours’ use.
