Presentation
For vocal performances, the Sennheiser EW-D 835-S SET (S4-7) digital wireless microphone system combines a handheld transmitter fitted with the e 835 capsule with an EW-D EM fixed receiver. Its built-in mute button allows for quick control of the transmission directly from the microphone, whilst the EW-D Smart Assist app makes it easy to configure and control the system via Bluetooth Low Energy.
The UHF digital transmission operates in the 630–662 MHz frequency range. Automatic scanning helps to find suitable frequencies, and the 134 dB audio input dynamic range helps to preserve signal detail without the need for sensitivity adjustment. The 56 MHz tuning bandwidth allows for the use of up to 90 channels, depending on the configuration and operating conditions.
In terms of power supply, two 1.5 V AA batteries are supplied, providing up to eight hours’ operation. To extend session times, the BA 70 rechargeable battery, sold separately, offers up to twelve hours’ battery life. Before a performance, check that the frequencies are available and that the batteries are sufficiently charged. This system is a practical solution for singers, public speaking and stage applications requiring a digital wireless link.
