Electric Guitar Effects
Source Audio has designed the Encounter for sound explorers. It pushes the boundaries of ambient by fusing delay and reverb into a world of almost cinematic depth. It sculpts layers of shifting echoes, stretched halos and ethereal textures that can blend or clash to suit your sonic mood. With its dual digital architecture and 56-bit processing, each nuance spreads like a wave through space, precise, pure and controlled. It's the perfect playground for those who prefer to dream in stereo, between controlled chaos and digital poetry.

Presentation
Beneath its futuristic looks, the Encounter hides a razor-sharp digital mechanism. Its SA601 dual-chip engine processes the signal over 56 bits for a surgically precise sound. The transparency of the Dry Through analogue path preserves your pure signal while the delays wrap around it like a living wave. The stereo architecture expands the sound space, giving the impression of being immersed in the centre of a moving dome. Universal Bypass, configurable between True and Buffered, gives you the freedom to sculpt your sound flow without constraint, whether you're in the studio or on stage.
In terms of effects, the pedal features 14 selectable Delay/Reverb combinations. You can move from sweeping, airy landscapes to textured, thick, shifting ambiences. The Noise Tape mode evokes a tape echo that can become as dirty and chaotic as you like, while Resonant brings a vibrating analogue filter under LFO control. The textures of Helix mode and the inverted loops of Reverse give life to worlds that distort, merge and stretch in an infinite ballet. Each patch acts like a sound painting: you adjust Feedback, Tone and Mix to shape your own personal galaxy.
The onboard reverbs are just as hypnotic. Hypersphere unfurls a dense, shifting spherical dimension, while Shimmers lifts harmonics to crystalline heights. Trem Verb mode adds a tremolo cut into the reverb to create hypnotic rhythmic movement, and Swell makes the note breathe like a rising tide. By connecting the pedal to the Neuro app, you gain access to a parallel universe: presets galore, detailed editing, sharing of creations and an infinite number of downloadable textures. The future of sound design is literally at your feet.
In terms of control, Source Audio has left nothing to chance. Independent Delay/Reverb footswitches enable instant activation of each effect engine, while Tap Tempo synchronises repeats to perfection. The 4-preset selector gives you live access to your favourite sounds, and MIDI compatibility extends the palette to 128 memories. Locking the knobs secures your settings on stage, so there are no nasty surprises. Behind its apparent sobriety, the Encounter behaves like a laboratory of textures ready to be interwoven into your playing.

To find out more...
Born in Source Audio's laboratories, the Encounter combines digital power and organic expressivity, and is the direct evolution of the famous Collider, developed for musicians who see delay and reverb as more than just an effect - a language in its own right.
Its internal SA601 dual-processor architecture and 24-bit converters reflect the brand's obsession with precision and musicality, qualities for which it is renowned from Boston to pedalboards the world over.
What are the controls for?
- Delay: adjusts the duration and density of repeats.
- Reverb Type: selects the character of the reverb (shimmer, reverse, trem verb, etc.).
- Mix: balance between dry signal and processed effect.
- Feedback: adjusts the amount of signal feedback for more or less persistence.
- Tone: modulates the colour of the sound, from muffled dark to crystal clear.
- Control 1 / 2: manage secondary parameters specific to each algorithm.
- Delay / Tap Tempo: synchronises delays to the desired tempo.
- Reverb (Hold): keeps the reverb active as long as the switch is pressed.
