Electric Guitar Combo
Supro Black Magick Combo The Supro Black Magick owes its reputation to a single Jensen P12Q speaker and two 6973 valves, which deliver 25 watts with a velvety roughness that is impossible to replicate. Dual-channel, built-in tremolo, a single ‘Tone’ control for all tonal shaping — a circuit design philosophy that prioritises density over an abundance of options.

Presentation
Stripped back to the bare essentials, radical in its design — the Supro Black Magick hides nothing behind a panel packed with knobs. A single Tone control shapes the tone, whilst Volume 1 and Volume 2 control the two channels fed by two separate instrument inputs, and the tremolo — adjustable via Speed and Depth — is woven into the signal with that organic pulse characteristic of analogue circuits without any digital processing in between. Four 12AX7 preamp valves build up the gain in successive stages before two 6973 power valves convert this momentum into 25 watts of rich, full-bodied power.
At the end of the chain, a 12-inch Jensen P12Q — a historic American driver with a prominent midrange response and slightly subdued treble — delivers this power with the characteristic ‘paper’ texture of vintage speakers. The poplar cabinet, finished in Black Rhino Hide with black piping and a Supro Silver/Black grille in cream and black, envelops the whole unit in a visually uncompromising aesthetic.
The simple TS footswitch, sold separately, allows tremolo control to be managed from the stage. The speaker outputs — 8 ohms and 2 × 4 ohms — cater for the most common extension cabinet set-ups. Electric blues, vintage rock, distorted Americana: the Black Magick needs no lengthy instruction manual to tell you what it’s all about.
