Supro - Keeley Custom 12

A larger cabinet, a bigger driver, and the same circuitry — this is how the Supro Keeley Custom 12 sets itself apart from the 10-inch version without compromising their shared DNA. The two 6V6GT tubes in push-pull configuration deliver 25 watts across a frequency range that the 12-inch Celestion G12M-65 is more than capable of reproducing: this British paper-cone speaker with a soft suspension spreads the mid-range over a wider frequency range than a 10-inch model, rounds off the attack without muffling it, and rolls off gently in the high frequencies where other speakers tend to get harsh. The two ECC83S tubes in the preamp — the European equivalent of the 12AX7 — shape the signal upstream with a linearity that gives the power tubes plenty of scope to work.
The poplar cabinet, clad in Blue Rhino Hide Tolex with white piping, contains this volume of air within a 19 kg unit measuring 600 × 410 × 270 mm — bulkier than the 10-inch model, but this extra cabinet volume translates directly into well-defined bass and stage presence. The Supro Silver/Blue grille ties the whole design together, in keeping with the Keeley collaboration. The Dog Bone vinyl handle keeps the unit’s centre of gravity stable during transport, ensuring a secure grip.
The control section — Volume, Treble, Bass and Master — retains the same minimalist design as on the Custom 10: few controls, great results. The built-in effects loop routes time-domain processing after the preamp saturation, preserving the tube character. The line-level Send output feeds directly into an interface or mixing desk, whilst the two 4-ohm outputs and the 8-ohm output cater for expansion via an external cabinet.
