Taylor - 24ce + Housse
The Taylor 24ce is a warm and accessible electroacoustic folk guitar, designed to accompany you from the first note to the last harmonics of the day. It combines the elegance of a Grand Auditorium shape with a solid mahogany top that brings out the midrange with a fine dose of temperament. With its Venetian cutaway, screw-down hard rock maple neck and Crelicam ebony fingerboard, it favours comfort and responsiveness without sacrificing visual charm. The discreet Fishman Sonitone GT-2 preamp, mounted in the rosette, lets you plug in the guitar without having to turn the instrument upside down. The 24ce is waiting for you, ready to adapt to your playing, your world, and your musical desires of the moment. Give it a try, and you'll never want to let go.
Presentation
You might have expected an ordinary neck, but no! The Taylor 24ce has a hard rock maple neck, screwed to the body for fluid access to the top of the register. Its standard C-shape fits comfortably in the hand, and its 381mm radius makes for precise, supple playing. You could go from arpeggio to riff without lifting a finger (figuratively speaking, of course).
The Fishman GT-2 system doesn't have a case that disfigures the body. The 24ce's preamp, with its rose-mounted controls, lets you manage volume and tone by ear. The essentials, nothing but the essentials, so you can connect to an amp without asking yourself a thousand technical questions.
The matt varnish reveals the natural grain of the wood, while the chrome finish on the action adds a subtle contrast, for a look that's understated but never bland. The synthetic tortoiseshell pickguard, triple-circle rosette and perloid fingerboard markers punctuate the overall look without being overly ornamental. The result is a guitar that has nothing to prove, but still makes a statement.
