Presentation
The Taylor Academy 12e LTD is all about comfort, without neglecting style. Thanks to its bevelled armrest, the position of the right arm becomes much more comfortable, especially during long playing sessions. Add to that a 381mm-radius eucalyptus fingerboard, and you've got an instrument that feels like it was designed for your fingers rather than a datasheet.
The Grand Concert body is compact yet expressive, making it particularly well-suited to fingerpicking or more intimate settings. Combined with a shortened 632 mm scale and light strings, it's easy for even the most timid fingers to get to grips with. And if you're just starting out, this is the kind of guitar that might just make you forget your knuckles are cramping.
The ES-B electronics built into the Taylor Academy 12e LTD greatly simplify amplification while preserving the finesse of the acoustic sound. The system includes a discreet digital tuner that saves the day, especially when the ear is struggling to find the high B. Whether you're rehearsing in your living room or preparing a recording, the sound remains faithful and natural, without the need to fiddle with an equaliser.
Behind its polished appearance, the Academy 12e LTD hides a real concern for durability: a stiff hard rock maple neck, stable oil bath action and a white Micarta saddle. No fuss, just what's needed to keep the tuning over time so you don't end up tuning instead of playing.

Compared with the standard models in the Academy series, this limited edition features a back and sides in laminated Hawaiian koa AA, which is much more visual and warm to the ear. It's a great way to combine elegance with a full-bodied sound, without sacrificing comfort.
The soft case supplied with the guitar is well thought out: light, reinforced and equipped with shoulder straps. To round it off, a padded strap and folding stand make a useful duo for playing anywhere, without turning your back into an origami.
