The orbit eq.xfader Black has been designed as a natural extension of the orbit.6, taking its architecture and quality requirements and adding extra control over the spectrum and the transition between sources. The presence of a dual 4-band isolator allows precise intervention on input frequencies, with musical and progressive control that perfectly meets the expectations of users of high-end analogue mixers. Each band benefits from full attenuation and controlled gain, useful for both subtle sculpting and clean cuts in a club mix.

The on-board Innofader crossfader provides much-needed precision in situations where fast or very smooth crossover is required. It can operate in Mix mode for traditional fades or in Cut mode for instant switching at full volume. The internal architecture follows that of the orbit.6, guaranteeing sonic coherence and identical behaviour across all six channels, although this module is entirely self-contained in a 1U rack.

For expandable setups, the orbit eq.xfader Black offers two expansion points: the Mixer Insert for daisy-chaining several units, and the Iso Insert for inserting additional processing such as a compressor, graphic EQ or effects processor. This modularity makes the unit particularly suited to professional installations and DJs wishing to adapt their path signal to their needs.

Construction is up to Union Audio standards, with a precision-machined, anodised and screen-printed 6mm 5083 aluminium front panel. The 1.5mm Zintec chassis has a textured black coating, while gold- or silver-plated connectors and high-precision film capacitors ensure very low signal coloration. Metallic Alps potentiometers ensure long life and precise feel.
