Union Audio - orbit eq.xfader Blue

The orbit eq.xfader Blue extends the capabilities of the orbit.6 while sporting a blue anodised front panel, providing a distinctive visual element in a rack DJ installation. Like the other eq.xfader models, it features a dual 4-band isolator for precise spectral processing, with deep attenuation and fine gain control. This gives DJs a tool capable of delivering an expressive, subtle or radical mixing style, depending on how the bands are manipulated.

The integrated Innofader crossfader adds extremely smooth or instantaneous transitions, depending on the mode chosen. In Mix, it enables progressive fades, while in Cut, it switches immediately to the opposite source. This behaviour is inspired by professional standards, offering flexibility that can be used for both club mixing and more performative approaches. The six-channel architecture has been designed to follow that of the orbit.6 perfectly, ensuring sonic continuity and an identical workflow.

For setups requiring greater modularity, the eq.xfader Blue offers several insertion points. The Mixer Insert allows several units to be chained together to extend the range of manipulation, while the Iso Insert allows external processors such as a compressor, graphic equaliser or specialist effects to be added. This modular approach makes it particularly interesting for evolving installations or professional environments.

It is built to Union Audio standards, with a 6mm blue 5083 aluminium front panel, machined and anodised, then screen-printed for long-lasting legibility. The 1.5mm Zintec steel chassis has a textured black coating, and the internal components are based on high-precision film capacitors, audio-grade operational amplifiers and gold- or silver-plated connectors. Metal-axis Alps potentiometers provide solid, precise control, ensuring longevity and reliability under heavy use.
