Vox - Bobcat V90 Bigsby Sapphire Blue

VOX Bobcat and Lynx semi-hollowbody guitars were produced in Italy in the mid-1960s. They featured unusual pickup configurations and a distinctive look, which we've brought back to life with the Bobcat V90 and S66. While we've retained the authentic design of these historic guitars, the success of this reissue lies in bringing them up to date with improved playability, better feedback control and more powerful pickups.

The Bobcat V90 is a half-body guitar equipped with soapbar pickups. This vintage-inspired design remains extremely faithful to the original VOX Lynx made in Italy in the 60s, while benefiting from modern improvements.

A reissue faithful to the original
A number of details have been carefully respected to bring the designs of the era fully back to life: the pickguard and pickups follow the same design and use the same shade of plastic as the VOX Bobcat of the sixties. The potentiometer knobs are made of aluminium, just like the originals, and the VOX logo on the headstock reproduces the vertical orientation of the original.

New pickups with a retro look and sound
The Bobcat's pickups are faithful to the Italian models of the sixties, but have undergone a significant design improvement. The Bobcat V90 is equipped with soapbar pickups using magnetised pads, like a strat, renowned for their brilliance and punch, an original configuration for half-body guitars.

Improved playability
The screw-in neck with double cutaway gives easy access to the high notes, and the tune-O-matic bridge provides the ideal angle for optimum playability.

The half-body guitar and feedback
The half-body construction of these guitars features a lightened centre beam, significantly improving sustain while providing greater resistance to feedback, even at high volumes.

Grover tuners
VOX BOBCAT guitars are equipped with open Grover tuners, which not only make tuning easy and precise, but also ensure long-term sustain.
