The Centavo is a precise recreation of one of the most sought-after overdrive pedals, the KLON Centaur. Produced between 1994 and 2009, the Centaur has remained famous for its boosted and saturated tones. True to the original, the Centavo authentically recreates the legendary experience and mythical sounds of the original effect. It acts as a boost pedal, but its saturation at the higher gain settings provides a rich foundation for true 'transparent' saturated rhythm tones.

The addition of the 'MOD' switch at the rear, requested by Jeff Beck on the original pedal, allows them to extend the bass response for fatter, thicker tones.
The gain on Centavo saturates quite late, with a breaking edge after 50% and real clipping occurring late in the gain phase.
The treble control is useful for boosting high frequencies for muddier guitars, such as double humbucker models or all-mahogany instruments.
With its high output level, it can easily provide clean amplification or create natural distortion if the tubes in your amp are already pushed.
The MOD switch at the back is an excellent tool to have at your disposal if the overdrive seems a little flimsy in the bass.
