Presentation
The Zildjian K Custom Hybrid Trash Smash 19" is a departure from traditional cymbals. Developed in collaboration with drummer Akira Jimbo, it combines a number of features in a single cymbal: an explosive crash, a highly controllable ride and a particularly modern trashy character.
As soon as you hit it, the sound takes off quickly, with a nervous attack and a rich blend of harmonics. The thin weight helps enormously with the immediate response, while the hammering and inverted bell reinforce the dirty, textured feel that gives it its personality. The result remains musical, with enough control to keep the sound clear even in faster or more technical passages.
This cymbal works particularly well for drummers who like to create different accents, enrich their breaks or produce unconventional sounds. When it crashes, it develops a beautiful explosiveness with controlled decay. On the ride, the response remains precise, while retaining the layer of dark, complex overtones typical of K Custom.
The traditional high-gloss finish accentuates the series' signature blend of vintage and modern. Made from B20 alloy, the K Custom Hybrid Trash Smash develops a highly personal sonic identity, perfect for fusion, modern rock, progressive metal, electro-acoustic or creative effects-oriented set-ups.

Akira Jimbo is a Japanese drummer renowned for his extremely precise playing, his mastery of independence and his highly modern approach to drumming. A former member of the Japanese fusion group Casiopea, he has established himself as a benchmark in the fusion, jazz-funk and progressive worlds thanks to his highly technical but always musical style.
He is also known for his work with hybrid cymbals and textured, nuanced configurations. His collaboration with Zildjian on certain K Custom models reflects this quest for more complex, dynamic and modern sounds.
