Akai - APC64

The Akai APC64 is much more than just a controller for Ableton Live; it represents a new era of hardware control for musicians and producers. Featuring 64 velocity-sensitive RGB pads with poly-aftertouch, it offers an intelligent and intuitive interface for music creation. These pads let you launch clips, play notes, create rhythms and even sequence complex patterns. Whether you're in the studio or playing live, the APC64 gives you total control over your music.

To take things even further, the APC64 features eight fully assignable touchbands. These bands let you add expression to your performances by controlling parameters such as vibrato, modulation, filter cut-off and much more. You can adjust volume, effects sends and pan in real time for total control of your mix.

But the APC64 doesn't stop there. It also features a revolutionary internal sequencer. You can compose unique melodies and chord progressions using 'Notes' and 'Chords' modes, which transform the pad matrix into an expressive musical palette. If you're looking for inspiration, the Probability and Mutate functions let you explore new musical directions. The internal sequencer offers eight tracks and 32 steps to instantly capture your musical ideas.

Integration with Ableton Live is seamless with scene launch buttons, dedicated transport controls, and backlit mode buttons for quick access to Live functions. You can also control your instruments, effects and processors with great precision.

The APC64 is also designed to function as a standalone sequencer and external hardware controller. It's USB-powered and has eight CV/Gate outputs as well as one MIDI input and two MIDI outputs. This means you can use it to control your MIDI/CV hardware without a computer. The standalone sequencer offers eight tracks with 32 steps and 16-note polyphony on each track. You can customise your setup with the included APC Project Editor software for maximum flexibility.

On top of all this, the APC64 comes with an Air instrument suite and Sonivox VST/AU plug-ins, plus 1GB of loops and drum samples from Sampletools by CR2 Records. It also comes with Ableton Live Lite, making it a complete solution for music creation.
