New sound Duet
Featuring an all-new circuitry, Duet 2 offers the latest components and development of Symphony I / O, the flagship audio interface Apogee. Mic preamps to the conversion of A / DD / A, the line outputs and headphone, Duet 2 offers the best of Apogee technology to capture your audio with even more precision and depth than the original Duet.
Made for Mac, Core Audio compatible
Designed exclusively for the Mac, Duet 2 fully integrates your music creation environment. With its look "very Mac", its dashboards directly integrated into Logic, Soundtrack Pro and GarageBand, Duet is the focal point of any home studio based Mac. And Core Audio compatibility makes it ideal for music production from other applications like Pro Tools, Ableton Live and Cubase.
Color OLED Display
This new type of high resolution display is the main control center Duet 2, providing visual feedback on many functions, such as the display of levels graphically or numerically, status groups, phase, cuts , phantom power, and Soft Limit. You can control everything on this display without even having to use Maestro or your audio software.
Programmable Touch Pads
Duet 2 also introduces programmable hotspots (touch pads). The two touch pads, located on both sides of the encoder, allow quick access to functions related to outputs as "cut output," "mitigation outputs", "summation mono" or "change source the helmet. " Each is assignable with a menu in the new Apogee Maestro 2.
Independent Outputs
The main output and the headphone output are separated in Duet 2, both of which can be assigned in pairs to the outputs 1-2 or 3-4, or low latency mixer, in stereo or mono, cut or reduced. It is easy for a DJ to listen to a "cue" in the headset while sending the main mix to the club; or a live musician to send a click track in the "in-ear" monitors while transmitting front tracks; or a sound engineer to send a pre-mix through headphones to a musician while reserving the main outputs to the studio monitors.
Soft Limit
Apogee This technology, introduced in 1992, can be heard on countless platinum records worldwide. Formerly reserved for the most sophisticated converters Apogee Soft Limit is now available in Duet. This design avoids excellence analog digital saturation, particularly unpleasant, by "smoothing" the peaks of the transient instantly before they reach the A / D converter. This technology allows to record several decibels of apparent level while imparting a subtle analog warmth to the signal.
Balanced Outputs
Another user expectations of the first Duet is the presence of a main balanced output, for obvious reasons of noise reduction under heavy cable length, and compatibility with many professional cameras.
Multi-function encoder
The elegant design of its aluminum housing and multifunction encoder are the hallmarks of Duet. This knob provides quick and easy access to inputs / outputs, and adjust the levels using the visual feedback of the display OLED Dynamic Duet 2.
Maestro 2
Duet 2 boasts not only the development of Symphony I / O, but also of the new Maestro 2, the redesigned look and functionality. But the interface will remain familiar to Maestro 1 users, with its single window tabs for quick access to all parameters: assignment of "touch pads" Enabling Soft Limit, choice of outputs, cut (mute) and attenuation ( Sun), sample rate, access to low latency mixer, improved.
New blossomed
The appearance of the new Duet 2 cable is clearer, with the channel mic / instrument (XLR and jack) gathered in one combo connector and 2 sockets 6.35mm balanced jack to the main output. Furthermore, to avoid unnecessary clutter and tangling cables, the new breakout consists of a single main cable parting on its end, to facilitate wiring while favoring a very clean appearance.
Accessory: External Enclosure
A robust aluminum external box is optional for Duet 2, equipped with two 6.35mm jack inputs, 2 XLR inputs for microphone and two XLR balanced outputs. The connectors are studio quality and a 3m cable liaises with Duet 2.
