Arturia - MicroFreak Vocoder Edition

Like many synth fans, you've probably dreamed of owning your own vocoder. Now, thanks to the limited version of the Arturia MicroFreak Vocoder, that's exactly what you can do: you can own a vocoder at a price that won't empty your Livret A, and with incredible sounds.

The MicroFreak Vocoder offers an aptly named vocoder mode, with its own oscillator. This mode lets you hear 4 synthesised vocal notes when you play a chord, and when you sing into the microphone.

But don't be put off if you already own MicroFreak: the Vocoder edition is based on a firmware update that's available to all owners of the original device. So, if you already own Arturia's MicroFreak, all you have to do is update the firmware, and you can transform your headphone socket into a microphone input socket for the vocoder. All you need to do is add a suitable microphone and a TRS-to-TRRS adapter to make the connections work. You can also buy the microphone that Arturia supplies with its Vocoders in a limited edition, all on its own!

Now, if you don't own the MicroFreak, we strongly recommend you get the limited edition Vocoder: its control panel has been given a complete makeover, including a stylish Swan graphic, and the whole unit has a sleek white finish.
