The OC818 Dual Set Go Black offers all the sonic power and flexibility of the OC818 system in a sleek, discreet black finish, perfect for professional studios, film sets and stage environments where visual restraint is a must. This stereo pack is based on two identical OC818 microphones, guaranteeing perfect coherence for pair recording, advanced stereo techniques or immersive set-ups.
At the heart of each OC818 is the CKR12 ceramic capsule, designed and handcrafted in Vienna. Inspired by the legendary CK12, it offers extremely detailed reproduction, rapid transient response and the ability to handle high levels without loss of definition. This capsule captures the finesse of a voice or acoustic instrument as well as the energy of a drum kit or amplifier, with great sonic stability.
The OC818 stands out for its advanced multi-polarity approach. In addition to the classic built-in polar patterns, it lets you create and record custom polar patterns. Independent access to the rear diaphragm via the Mini XLR output opens the door to unprecedented post-production processing using Austrian Audio software tools. PolarDesigner lets you adjust the polar pattern after recording, StereoCreator lets you design complex stereo pairs after the fact, and AmbiCreator makes it easy to create immersive and ambisonic content from a single plug.
The ecosystem can be further extended with the optional OCR8 wireless module. Combined with the PolarPilot application, it enables directionality, low-cut filters and attenuators to be controlled in real time from the control room, without any physical intervention on the microphone. A modern approach that transforms the studio workflow and brings new freedom to recording sessions.
