The Avantone BV-1 MKII is a large-diaphragm condenser tube microphone that takes an assertive approach to analogue sound, with a clear priority given to component quality and overall circuit coherence. This second generation does not seek to reinvent the concept, but to refine it in depth, with a meticulous selection of each element involved in the audio chain.

The 34mm CK12-style double-sided capsule, with its 6-micron gold-plated Mylar membrane, is the starting point for this sonic signature. It provides a full reproduction at the bottom of the spectrum, while retaining precise definition at the top, without aggressiveness. The proximity effect is well controlled, adding density and presence to vocals without excess, making it a particularly popular tool for vocals, but also for acoustic and electric instruments.

The BV-1 MKII uses a 6072A tube selected for its low noise and stability, combined with a Cinemag output transformer designed specifically for this microphone. This pair plays a central role in the sound reproduction, providing a rich harmonic texture, fluid dynamics and a very natural sense of depth. The result remains balanced, with solid lows, expressive mids and airy highs.

Versatility is an integral part of the BV-1 MKII thanks to its variable directionality, ranging from omnidirectional to cardioid to figure-of-eight. This flexibility means that the recording can be precisely adapted to the context, whether it's vocals, piano, percussion, brass, strings or even guitar amplifiers. Built-in low-cut and attenuator filters provide additional control for handling high levels and close sources.

The package is completed by a high-end external power supply and German-made Sommer 7-pin cabling, ensuring a stable power supply to the tube and uncompromised signal transmission. The BV-1 MKII is supplied with all the necessary accessories, in a package designed for long-lasting professional use, both in the studio and in demanding environments.
