These cream-finish MixCubes Active take up the spirit of the legendary reference cubes, while providing the precision and stability that today's engineers expect. Their aim is simple: to provide a representative listening experience of bass-light systems such as radios, televisions, multimedia speakers or car radios, enabling you to anticipate how a mix will translate into the real world. This approach considerably reduces the need to go back and forth and makes mixing decisions more secure, particularly in critical midrange areas. These monitors are particularly appreciated as a complement to main listening, to identify resonances, masking and spectrum imbalances.

The design of the cabinet is based on a dense MDF panel, much more rigid than that used in historical models, and optimised to limit parasitic vibrations. Internal reinforcement, combined with Dacron acoustic lining, ensures stable, reproducible reproduction. The underside incorporates a non-slip neoprene support to limit mechanical transmission to the furniture. Avantone has also integrated a standard 5/8"-27 microphone stand mount, enabling creative placement in fixed or mobile studios.

The proprietary 5.25-inch driver is testament to the care taken in research and development. Designed with a cast aluminium chassis, a mica-reinforced cellulose cone and a Y-40 magnet-based motor, it offers low distortion and spectral coherence ideal for analysis. The metal components are made from Sumitomo 1008 steel, guaranteeing stable magnetic flux. The whole unit behaves like a reliable, musical full-range transducer, specially designed to reproduce decisive zones of presence accurately.
