B&C Speakers - 10PLB76 16 Ohm

The 16 ohm version of the B&C 10PLB76 has clearly been designed to fit into systems that demand power, control and operational flexibility. This 10-inch loudspeaker is capable of handling 400 watts without flinching, with very good stability in the bass and low midrange registers, where energy is often concentrated in PA applications.

Its 76mm aluminium voice coil rests on a fibreglass support and has a good winding depth. This structure enables it to cope well with thermal and mechanical loads, even on dynamic signals.

The ferrite motor isn't there for show: it delivers a very dense field, and the presence of a demodulation ring refines midrange behaviour, limiting the effects of parasitic inductance.

With a resonance frequency of 51 Hz and a response curve down to 2.5 kHz, the 10PLB76 covers a lot of ground. It can easily be used in two-way systems, stage monitors or even as midrange reinforcement in hybrid subwoofers. Its Xmax of ±6 mm gives enough headroom to work at high levels without losing signal stability.

In terms of efficiency, the sensitivity remains at 94.71dB, well suited to multi-HP systems or passive networks. The die-cast aluminium bowl provides the necessary rigidity, and the whole unit remains reasonably compact at 110 mm deep and weighing around 7.3 kg. It's a solid, precise transducer that does the job without trying to do too much, but which responds as soon as you turn up the volume.
