The B&C Speakers DCX354 8 Ohm Driver + ME148 is a set designed for line-array systems and professional applications requiring precise and homogeneous sound reproduction over a wide frequency range. It combines the DCX354 coaxial compression driver with an ME148 horn optimised for systems with extended horizontal coverage.
This configuration is based on a 1.4"/1" dual output driver, equipped with a high flux density neodymium magnet (1.96 T) and 3" and 2" aluminium coils. The high-temperature (HT) polymer diaphragm ensures excellent thermal and mechanical stability, while offering clear, linear reproduction up to 20 kHz. The coaxial design allows simultaneous coverage of the midrange and treble bands with perfect phase coherence, guaranteeing a precise and natural sound image.
The ME148 horn, in moulded polycarbonate, has been specifically designed for the constraints of line-array systems. It delivers a constant horizontal coverage of 120°, while the vertical opening depends on the cluster configuration. Its design provides effective loading from 500 Hz, ensuring a smooth transition between the midrange drivers and the compression section.
The whole unit has an average sensitivity of 110 dB, with a rated power of 90 W (LF) and 50 W (HF). Compact and robust, it weighs just 3.3 kg and is an ideal solution for touring applications and fixed installations requiring power, clarity and long-term reliability.
