B&C Speakers - DE38 8 Ohm Driver

The DE38 8 Ohm is part of the B&C Speakers range of Ø 1" compression drivers, developed to meet the needs of compact professional sound systems while maintaining a high level of performance.

Its design aims for a precise balance between efficiency, bandwidth and power handling, making it easy to integrate into multi-purpose or high-frequency loudspeakers.

The motor is fitted with a 38mm (1.5") aluminium voice coil, combined with a Mylar diaphragm, a material renowned for its stability, lightness and long-term reliability. This combination enables the DE38 to deliver a smooth, controlled response over a wide frequency range, with clear, defined high-frequency reproduction.

With a sensitivity of 107.5 dB, measured at 2.83 V, the DE38 is distinguished by its high efficiency, enabling a high sound level to be achieved with moderate power.

Its operating range extends from 2 kHz to 20 kHz, with a recommended cut-off frequency of 2 kHz, provided a high-pass filter of at least 12 dB/octave is used. This configuration ensures safe motor operation while maintaining a linear and stable response.

The 2 Tesla magnetic flux contributes to excellent control of coil movement and precise dynamic response, while the low inductance of 0.05 mH promotes good extension in the extreme treble. The DE38 is therefore particularly well suited to systems requiring detailed reproduction, with good intelligibility and controlled directivity via the associated horn.
