D'Angelico - Deluxe Bob Weir Signature
D'Angelico Deluxe Bob Weir Signature D'Angelico has put its stamp on the Deluxe Bob Weir Bedford Signature, a model designed in collaboration with the Grateful Dead guitarist. With a basswood body, Pau Ferro fingerboard and a trio of Lollar P-90 and single-coil pickups, Bob Weir’s signature sound takes shape. It features a gold-plated Wilkinson vibrato, a Matte Stone finish and comes with a hardshell case.
Presentation
The Korean-built guitar features a three-piece set-neck with a C-profile, a Pau Ferro fingerboard and 22 silver-plated nickel Jescar frets. The generous radius of 355.6 mm makes it easy to play barre chords as well as finer nuances, whilst the scale length of 628.65 mm maintains a distinctive tension, inherited from the specific dimensions of this model.
The three-ply binding accentuates the headstock and fingerboard, where the D’Angelico New York logo and Deluxe shield are inlaid in mother-of-pearl. The Split Block inlays, crafted from mother-of-pearl and abalone, add a visual touch that contrasts with the body’s understated design.
As for the pickups, the trio combines two stacked Seymour Duncan DA-90 STK P-90s with a single-coil Lollar Blonde, controlled by a 5-position selector switch, a blend control and push-pull functions on the volume and tone controls. This allows you to explore tonal colours that go far beyond the psychedelic rock for which Bob Weir is renowned.
The gold-plated Wilkinson 6-point vibrato, paired with Grover 509 Super Rotomatic locking tuners, keeps the tuning stable even after the most extreme dives. A Tusq nut, D’Angelico Electrozinc 10-46 strings, and gold-plated locking strap pins: every component is designed with the stage in mind, where the instrument must stand the test of time. A Deluxe Hardshell case is included for transporting the guitar.

Spotlight on
D'Angelico is a New York brand of electric guitars that has existed since 1938. First went unnoticed because the guitars were manufactured only by hand in a very small workshop by two luthiers; it is in 2011, at a show at the New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, that D'Angelico is noticed. Since then, D'Angelico guitars have been a real success thanks to their quality of manufacture and their price.
