D'Angelico Premier Tammany Natural The D'Angelico Premier Tammany Natural, a non-cutaway OM-style guitar inspired by New York Art Deco. Solid spruce top, laminated sapele back and sides: a warm grain that develops over time. The Fishman Presys VT system takes it straight onto the stage.

Presentation
New York, mid-20th century: the Tammany Natural draws on this Art Deco aesthetic and applies it to a non-cutaway OM body, with a satin finish that allows every fibre of the wood to breathe. The grain is visible to the naked eye; the ‘Natural’ colour is true to the wood.
The solid spruce top matures like a fine wine: the tone becomes rounder and gains depth with each season of playing, supported by X-Scalloped braces that allow the vibration to flow freely rather than being contained. The laminated sapele back and sides add stability and warmth in the lower mid-range – that sonic foundation which gives body to every barre chord. The rosewood bridge and fingerboard, along with PPS tuning pegs, round off this rich, woody character.
The Scarf-joined mahogany neck, with a C-shaped profile and dovetail joint, fits comfortably in the hand across a scale length of 635 mm. Twenty Medium Jumbo frets run along a radius of 355.6 mm, punctuated by small acrylic diamonds that characterise the Premier finish. The double-action truss rod, housed beneath an Ebony Wood Skyscraper cover, keeps the neck stable come rain or shine. The 42.86 mm wide bone nut ensures consistent tuning.
On stage, the Fishman Presys VT preamp takes over: with volume and tone at your fingertips, the guitar transitions from a campfire to a packed hall without losing its acoustic soul. The Stairstep Wave tuning machines and antique bronze hardware complete this vintage look, with a tortoiseshell pickguard as a final touch. Fitted with D’Addario EXP-16 strings as standard, made in Indonesia.

Spotlight on
D'Angelico is a New York brand of electric guitars that has existed since 1938. First went unnoticed because the guitars were manufactured only by hand in a very small workshop by two luthiers; it is in 2011, at a show at the New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, that D'Angelico is noticed. Since then, D'Angelico guitars have been a real success thanks to their quality of manufacture and their price.
