When you're looking for a warm, well-balanced guitar sound, this DiMarzio DP287FSNLB UtoPIA pickup comes in very handy! It rounds out overly aggressive frequencies if your guitar tends to slam a little too hard in the midrange.
The pickup is based on the recipe of the famous Evolution. This model, co-developed with Steve Vai, is a high-power humbucker designed for remarkable clarity and percussive punch. What sets it apart is its ability to maintain high definition even at high gain levels, resulting in dynamic response and rich harmonics.
So the pickup is based on this model, but with a rounder treble and more pronounced bass. The sound is expressive, but never too biting, thanks to the slightly quieter midrange.
The pick-up gives you a real grip on the attack, with a good reserve of control and nuance. Perfect for clean guitars with a high midrange, it evens out uneven frequencies.
You can also use it for coil splitting, combined with the UtoPIA Middle pickup. It's also an excellent choice in the bridge position for balancing a low output neck pickup.
The humbucker has a satin nickel finish with a touch of light blue. It's a real visual refresh, original without being flashy. The baroque openwork cover gives it a real allure, right in the world of Steve Vai.
