Electro-Voice - EVOLVE 50 G2

Electro-Voice’s EVOLVE 50 G2 powered column system combines power, wide coverage and quick installation in a format designed for music and event performances, with an architecture designed to maintain control without cluttering the area around the speaker with additional equipment.

With a maximum sound pressure level of 129 dB, a coverage pattern of 120° horizontally and 40° vertically, and a 12-inch subwoofer, the EVOLVE 50 G2 delivers wide coverage with deep bass and precise sound reproduction, making it ideal for venues hosting large audiences.

The enhanced DSP processing includes ducking and a bank of FX effects, enabling more precise management of sound sources and maintaining controlled sound reproduction during vocal, musical or event performances. These features expand the possibilities for signal processing, with settings accessible directly from the system and a control interface designed to remain clear and easy to read throughout the performance.

The new QuickSmart App 3.0 interface centralises wireless control via a phone or tablet and allows you to manage multiple compatible speakers, the True Wireless Stereo configuration and firmware updates. This development also simplifies the monitoring of more complex systems, with a modernised interface that reduces repetitive tasks during configuration changes and provides access to advanced management functions from a mobile control point, without the need for an additional computer.

Bluetooth now offers an extended range and forms part of a broader control ecosystem, making remote management easier from various points within the venue or mixing area. For the EVOLVE 50 G2, this development enhances placement flexibility and the ability to monitor settings. Electro-Voice has incorporated a 2.8-inch colour LCD screen that provides a clear display of essential parameters, with an encoder control allowing the system to be managed without an external device and maintaining immediate control over key settings.

The QuickSmart Link network connection via RJ45 extends the system’s architecture by allowing two EVOLVE G2 speakers to be linked using a standard Ethernet cable. Control data and configuration parameters are thus exchanged between the systems, whilst the EVOLVE 50 G2 retains its connections for microphone, line and Bluetooth sources, resulting in a clearer cabling layout for two-speaker installations.
