Electro-Voice - EVOLVE 50M G2

With the second-generation EVOLVE 50M, Electro-Voice has created a complete sound system that combines sound reproduction, amplification and mixing in a portable column-style design. This design is ideal for DJs, bands, presenters and event organisers looking for a cohesive system that is quick to set up and capable of handling multiple audio sources directly.

The 2 dB increase in maximum sound pressure level brings the figure to 129 dB, with a coverage angle of 120° horizontally and 40° vertically. The result is greater dynamic range and even sound distribution, with deep bass delivered by the 12-inch subwoofer and its laminar flow port.

The integrated By Dynacord mixing console significantly expands the system’s scope of application, notably featuring two effects processors that allow for the management of multiple effects on different channels, ensuring a sound configuration tailored to each performance.

The QuickSmart Link interconnect is a major new feature of this generation, with an RJ45 network socket capable of transmitting audio and control data between two EVOLVE G2 systems in the blink of an eye. This architecture minimises the number of physical connections required and allows settings to be shared between the two speakers. This makes system management more consistent, with a clearer organisation of sources, parameters and audio routing when a stereo or extended configuration is used.

Electro-Voice’s QuickSmart 3.0 app adds a new dimension to control, with a redesigned interface for phones and tablets capable of managing multiple compatible systems from a single platform. Wireless control provides access to DSP settings, audio routing and matrixing, whilst also offering the option to group multiple speakers and create a True Wireless Stereo configuration. Remote firmware updates also simplify fleet maintenance, eliminating the need for an additional computer to keep the systems up to date.

DSP processing has also seen significant enhancements with AFS, music ducking and an expanded effects library, complemented by switchable 48 V phantom power for condenser microphones. The new 2.8-inch colour LCD screen displays key parameters and makes it easy to adjust settings directly on the speaker. This combination of digital processing, comprehensive connectivity and local or wireless control gives the Electro-Voice EVOLVE 50M G2 a particularly versatile design, where advanced functions remain accessible without the need for numerous external devices around the system.
