The EMG 35JX-BLK is an active soapbar pickup that revisits the jazz bass sound with greater clarity and depth. Its secret? An X Series preamp that enhances dynamics while retaining a warm midrange.
The radiused ceramic magnet perfectly follows the curvature of the strings for a balanced response. It's a pick-up that's more expressive, more responsive, but still super-quiet. It gives an impression of natural playing, like a passive pickup, but with the punch and stability of an active one.
The sound is broad: the bass is solid, the midrange well forward, the treble subtle but present. It's perfect for strummers juggling several styles.
The humbucker is easy to fit to any 89mm 4-string bass. It is suitable for guitars with a maximum string spacing of 6.67 cm.
