EMG - 40J Black

Its 102mm body integrates easily into many modern set-ups, without modification to the body, making it a practical option for targeted upgrades.

With its coil positioned close to the bridge, it naturally accentuates harmonics and attack, giving greater definition in both bass and treble. There's the grain of the J pickups, but with a more open response, ideal for clear, detailed lines, even in sustained playing.

The radiated ceramic magnet also has a lot to do with this: it provides good support in the midrange while letting the treble express itself with great responsiveness. The response at the bottom end of the spectrum remains firm, without any fuzziness or excess roundness.
